KCCA to demolish more illegal structures

The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has assured the public that all illegal structures in the city will be pulled down if the developers did not comply with the law.

According to KCCA physical planner Joseph Ssemambo, the authority is compiling a list of all city structures that were set up in road reserves which the authority intends to demolish.

KCCA enforcement team leader Isa Nyonyintono, backed by the Police and anti-riot operatives, brought down a structure on the disputed piece of land on Plot 42, Nile Avenue, Kampala in the wee hours of Thursday.
The structure, which was meant to be a temporary showroom, belonged to M/S Foton East Africa, Uganda Ltd.
